Turn to Us for Effective Skin Cancer Treatments

Skin cancer is not only the most common kind of cancer, but it is also more common than all other cancers combined. We see between eight and ten skin cancers every single day in our office.

There are essentially three types of skin cancer:

  • Basal cell carcinoma
  • Squamous cell carcinoma
  • Melanoma

Basal cell and squamous cell cancers usually present themselves as a “sore that won’t heal.” But, there are many variations on a theme. Melanoma tends to be an irregular mole that shows both irregular color and border. There are also many variations on a theme. So, if you have a sore that won’t heal, if you have any suspicious lesion on your body that is growing and changing, especially a pigmented lesion, you should see your dermatologist.

If you have more than thirteen to fifteen moles on your skin, you should be seen annually by your dermatologist as you are at a higher risk for developing atypical moles and or melanoma. Skin cancer is usually fairly easy to treat. There are numerous different treatment modalities. Most lesions can be caught early and are cured. We recommend self-examination once a month. If you see any suspicious lesions, they should be seen by your dermatologist.
